Bulletin Board

I've been wanting an area on my wall for organizing my projects that I'm working on and after doing a lot of spring cleaning, I finally have some wall space! I've been gathering these little pegboard pieces for a couple of years hopeful that I would be able to use them someday and this is the day!

I wish I had gathered more but when I fell short of filling the space that I wanted to fill, I just decided to put in some bulletin boards to fill it in. So I measured the area and decided to make two. One for the side and one across the bottom. I could have used cardboard but I decided to use some leftover foam core board instead. So I cut out two thicknesses and hot glued them together. Then I got my fabric out and covered the boards with fabric, hot gluing the back edges all around.

I covered over the back with poster board and fixed them to the wall with nano tape. That stuff really does hold it to the wall. Some other names for it are 'alien tape' and 'space tape'. I was lucky to find some at the Dollar Tree months ago but I haven't been able to find more since. So if you do find it for cheap, get several of them. You will find uses for this stuff.

For the bottom board I knew I wanted to string a line across the top with little clothes pins to hang stuff on. I hot glued a little fence across the bottom. I found some wooden and wire pieces but you could also use paper if you have a fence punch. Or you could just paint a fence on the fabric if you want. I also found some little plastic trays that I could fix to the peg board to hold lightweight things.

I think it turned out pretty cute and I will use it a lot! So easy to make from whatever leftovers you already have. And you can make them any size you want. I'll be glad when Spring cleaning is over because I'll be able to rest a little from all this organizing.
